- Kailua-Kona Town - Just on the doorstep of King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, Kailua is a picturesque village and the hub of the west side of the Big Island. The town provides leisurely shopping, browsing and sightseeing opportunities, and a great place to relax with a refreshing drink and watch the world go by.
- Hulihee Palace - About a 10-minute walk from King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, Hulihee Palace was the summer residence of Hawaiian royalty. Built in 1838 and serving as a museum today, the Palace is operated by the Daughters of Hawaii and houses a collection of Hawaiian artifacts and personal memorabilia of 19th century Hawaiian royalty.
- Mokuaikaua Church - Across the street from Hulihee Palace is the oldest church in the Hawaiian Islands. Mokuaikaua Church was build by western missionaries in the 1820's and is open to the public.
